Good lord, I hate session IPAs.
IPAs have a tendency to need a high alcohol content. Well, at least for me to enjoy it. I like my Pales to have a hoppy bite, so a high IBU is enjoyable.
Unfortunately, three good IPAs can lay me on my ass.
So now Stone goes and makes this.
Needless to say, I was a little leery. I have never had a session IPA that hasn’t tasted like rank garbage water. Could Stone change the trend?
Yes…yes they did.
By all means, this IPA ain’t toppling my top ten, but it’s fantastic – and check this out:
Alcohol: 4.5%
IBU: 65
65 IBU! It’s got quite a bit of that hop bite I like. Nice faint citrus too. I’m 100% impressed.
Kudos, Stone.
