What I’m Drinking – What I Drank

So, I know about six of you have been biting your fingernails to the root just agonizing over where I’ve been.

Don’t worry. It was vacation and it was awesome.

What does matter is I drank a lot of beer that I very much enjoyed.

So, let’s break down the beers (no pictures this time. Google is your friend). I’ll rank them from favorite to least favorite. Bear in mind, I enjoyed ALL of these beers, except one.

Also, I’m no connoisseur, so if I’m not detailing enough crap for you, eat me.

1) Napa Smith Hopageddon Imperial IPA – Loved it. Go drink it. Some more info can be found here. I’m a hop head, so it was agreeable to me and went very, very well with the pretzels I enjoyed with it. Also, they made this in Napa Valley? Hot damn, they can make wine AND beer.

2) Everything I tasted from New Belgium. Fantastic, fantastic beers. Fat Tire absolutely lived up to my expectations. Ranger and Blue Paddle were unexpected surprises.

  • Fat Tire
  • Ranger India Pale Ale
  • Blue Paddle

3) Cigar City Jai Alai IPA – Fantastic. I’m baffled an IPA this nice was brewed in Florida. Not too hoppy, but a nice kick. A good “beginner” IPA.

4) Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale – The wife is more of a brown ale lover, but let me tell you, this could potentially convert me. I’d argue this bad boy might be nearly as good a session ale as Goose Island’s Honker’s Ale. Wow, Florida, what the hell is up with the awesome beer?

That’s that. I’m drinking a Clown Shoes Galactica IPA right now. Still deciding what I think of it, but so far I kinda dig it.

Be easy,

Angel
